These trees are so old they feel like stone. The stones have given growth to the olive trees; they grow out of the earth because of the stone — within the wood is stone. Cracked and weathered, with holes and openings; some with almost open trunks revealing their guts. You can see the internal tree. The stone column balanced as a partner to the tree. The stone grows within the tree — the seed.
